Time for Lent
Tomorrow marks the beginning or Lent in the Roman Catholic Calendar. For those who do not know, Lent is the 40 day period before easter where one goes through a process of repentance and renewal.
Last year among other things I gave up facebook and other things I considered luxuries during that period. I can confirm that this year starting tomorrow I will temporarily go off any social networking and non work related communication in my quest to spend as much time as possible reading the word of God. As Catholics its also expected that I fast during this period. Basically the fasting will comprise of complete abstinence from meat on Ash Wednesday and every Friday during lent and One full meal every day.
I have also taken it upon myself to to the rosary every day of the week starting tomorrow.? I shall however continue my normal blogging in the usual columns.
