Manzini Choir Wins Old Mutual regional final
As expected, Manzini choir won the ticket to represent Swaziland at the? Old Mutual National Choir Festival 2010 was held at the Royal Swazi Spa Convention Centre yesterday.
In earning the sole ticket? ticket to once again represent the country in the regional Old Mutual Choral music competition finals in Johannesburg, South Africa in December, Manzini Choir beat five other choirs including Sweet Sounds and Mbabane Methodist Choir, who came second and third respectively.

MTN Swaziland Testing 3G
The country’s sole mobile phone provider MTN Swaziland is commercial 3G mobile network following a month-long pilot of four UMTS base stations. They had been initially? granted a temporary 3G licence to cover several events including the Common Market for Eastern & Southern Africa (COMESA) summit in the country in late August. The permit was valid from 16 August to 15 September, with 3G services offered to post-paid MTN customers only. They have however extended it to the 30th of September.
MTN Swaziland?s existing commercial network is equipped with 2.5G EDGE technology, which it has deployed in the Mbabane Manzini corridor and other selected areas around the country.
