Maftown 13th Annual 60s party weekend

Sixties Party

Sixties Party

The Sixties Party was conceptualized by a group of young people from Mafikeng in 1998. It began as a costume party attended by revelers dressed in 60s attire and has since evolved to a large-scale, weekend-long event (removed ?to?) showcasing extreme retro fashion and music. The Mafikeng Sixties Party takes place in December and attracts young adults from all walks of life and from across the country.

The Mpumalanga Sixties Party launched in 2009 with great success. Buoyed by the response, it is set to be an annual affair that will continue to grow in size and stature just like the Mafikeng original.

The warm-up event at the Emnotweni Arena at the Casino on the 1st of October is a thigh-slapping, toe-tapping, hand-clapping collaboration featuring top local and international DJs and artists including DJ Glen Lewis, Vinny Da Vance, China, Marvin, Stax, Joy Morales, Chrizozo and Sumbody. It kicks off at Emnotweni Arena and tickets cost just R60.

The Emnotweni Arena has proven a fitting venue for large-scale entertainment events, shows and activities as diverse as the special Soccer World Cup fan zone to comedy and music acts for the recent Innibos festival.

The Arena offers 720m? of open floor space which can be customised to accommodating anything from 25 to over 1 000 people in various formats. It is easily and convincingly transformed to fit the mood, feel and theme of the events it accommodates, with facilities that are of an international standard. Of course, Emnotweni Casino?s entertainment team is trained and well-versed at playing gracious and professional hosts to the diverse mix of people and cultures that stream to the Arena for these events, making for an exceptional experience all-round.

Emnotweni Casino and its staff are thrilled to be part of the upcoming Nelspruit Sixties Weekend and privileged to be kicking off the party.

?In the 12 years since our inception, Emnotweni Casino has established itself as the preferred entertainment destination in Mphumalanga. Over the years we have staged a myriad of world-class events, shows and golf tournaments which have attracted many visitors to the city,? says Emnotweni Casino?s General Manager, Ig Olivier.

?Nelspruit is undoubtedly one of South Africa?s most dynamic emerging cities.? We believe that Emnotweni Casino has a valuable role to play in entrenching Nelspruit?s position as a versatile entertainment, sporting, leisure and business destination.?

?The Nelspruit Sixties Weekend is an opportunity for us to help bring to life and entrench a tradition that will attract tourists to our beautiful city year after year and help to unify our citizens,?

Aside from this world-class entertainment, Emnotweni Casino offers the best in gaming, with a total of 367 slot machines in a wide variety of denominations, 10 gaming tables plus a Salon Priv?, providing four gaming tables. Most recently the casino introduced Mpumalanga?s first TouchTable MultiPLAY Roulette – a live game of Roulette which combines a traditional dealer-dealt Roulette table with a full-sized electronic Multi-player touch-screen.
