Online job portal CareerJunction recently released their Quarter 1 2010 CareerJunction Index (CJI), providing statistics gathered from the CareerJunction website about supply and demand in the online job market and salary levels of IT professional.

Many IT professionals wonder which fields pay the best and what they can expect to be paid when they reach executive levels, the CJI report provides the answers.

According to the CareerJunction Index (CJI) IT jobs report the highest paid professionals within the Information Technology sector are currently those in Management positions. This is followed by Business Analysts where there exists a remarkable shortage of labour.

Analyzing market related salary packages for IT professionals at various skill levels reveals that professionals at management level earn the highest monthly salaries.

When categorising highest paid professionals across other occupational fields according to the level of skills they possess, the highest paid professionals include Business Analysts for the junior and skilled level categories, IT Managers for the senior level category and Systems & Network Administrators for the management level category.
