Longpiggy: "Very, very rare these days that I take a sharp intake of breath in shock. As much as it is not surprising it is a shocker. God can you remember her [in the past]...all boobs, grins and fun for life?. Poor wee lamb. Thinking of you sweety and that fun girl."
Wayne321: "I am shocked at how upset I am over this news. I know she had her addictions, but who are we to judge what she faced in life. People turn to drugs because they can't cope with things such as fame, etc. I am devestated. RIP Amy, you were an amazing talent and your death is a massive loss to the music world."
Vivadiva: "How desperately sad that a 27 year old woman has died. How sad that we lost a talented musician in the early stages of her already wonderful career. How sad that while clearly suffering, some decided to mock and taunt a young woman with a severe problem. And how terrible that this has continued into death from some. How sad that we failed to recognise a genius among us until it was too late."
Mazzy50: "Despite her downward spiral, I had always hoped she would be able to get it all together again and write some more fantastic songs. Both Frank and Back to Black are excellent albums. Even though this could not be described as unlikely or unexpected, I do find myself deeply saddened… I actually feel like crying."
casualtyno1fan: "This is a sad, sad day in music. Britain lost one of it's greatest talents today. She will never be replaced."
DIVALISCOUS: "She was such an inspiration to me. Amy lived a terribly sad, tragic life, but God her music flourished because of it. So much soul. She's in a better place now."

Madiba’s brithday: July 18th
Nelson mandela birthday: "From the moment Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela strode out of prison on the 11th of February 1990, we knew that South Africa would be a different place," the president said in a statement.
South Africa needed to make poverty eradication a top priority, President Jacob Zuma said in his birthday wish to anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela on Monday.
"He showed us that despite the divisive racial oppression and hardships that this nation had gone through, it is not only possible, but necessary to embrace one another and to reconcile the South African people."
Zuma said Mandela had laid the foundation for a "solid constitutional democracy".
"We have achieved a lot, but we must still work further to eradicate poverty and improve especially the lives of children, because Madiba loves them so much.
"Most importantly, we must spread love, ubuntu, humility and selflessness around us," said Zuma.
"To celebrate Madiba's life, let each one of us, pledge to make South Africa an even better place in every possible way."
Mandela, who was South Africa's first democratically elected president, turned 93 on Monday.
He was celebrating the day in his Eastern Cape home town of Qunu, away from the public eye, and under constant supervision by his doctors after a respiratory infection landed him in hospital in January.
Zuma will visit Mandela on Monday to wish him happy birthday in person.
"President Jacob Zuma will visit former president Nelson Mandela at his home in Qunu this afternoon, 18 July, to wish him well on his birthday," the Presidency said in a statement.
Zuma will use the opportunity to show Mandela an architect's impression of the Nelson Mandela Legacy Bridge that will be constructed across the Mbashe River between Ndondolo Village in the Mbashe Local Municipality and the Mvezo Village in the King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality.
"The Department of Rural Development and Land Reform will construct the bridge and road, which will link Mvezo village to the N2, and reduce the travel distance to Idutywa by nearly 50km. The construction of the bridge will also reduce the travel time between Mvezo and the N2 by approximately 1 hour 30 minutes," the Presidency said.
"The bridge will improve the lives of people living in and around Madiba's village and is one of the key contributions to keeping the Mandela legacy of a better life for all alive."

Google+ vs Facebook war
Google vs Facebook: Many factors will come into play to determine whether Google+ can successfully challenge Facebook in the social media arena, including the appeal of the new service and whether people are willing to leave an established network where they already have numerous connections.
Google is well positioned as an Internet brand with better customer satisfaction than Facebook, and is a larger company with more internal resources. However, Facebook is a high-growth company that's likely on the verge of a public stock offering, meaning it has access both to a great deal of investor cash and top-flight employees hoping to cash in on that growth.
The most likely winner? Social media users, who will benefit from two strong companies battling to improve their products to either keep or win over customers.

Idols SA: top 15
Idols South Africa: Idols Season 7’s notorious “Hell Week” at Sun City started out with 98 dreams, but over the course of four grueling days the judges made one cut after the other and in tonight's episode there were only 33 potential Idols left, waiting to hear if they will have the chance to sing for South Africa’s votes.
24-Year-old Nolly Meje from Cape Town was the very first contestant to audition in this season of Idols, and tonight she would also be first to hear if her dreams would come true. A sober-looking Randall Abrahams told Nolly that the judges’s decision was not an easy one, but that she was indeed the first contestant this year to make it through to the Top 15! “It’s a step closer to what I want – and that is the title,” said a determined Nolly.
But for the other contestants the tension in the holding room had become almost unbearable. Prime Zulu from Kwa-Mashu in KZN abruptly burst into tears. “No-one taught me how to sing,” he sobbed. “Whatever experience I have is because of me, because I tried to get somewhere.” Unfortunately, for the second year in a row the 23-year-old had to return home bitterly disappointed. “You can’t deny that your Sun City auditions haven’t been the best,” a sympathetic Unathi tried to break the news gently.
In total, 14 contestants received happy news from the judges, until only Josslynn Hlenti (20) from Durban and Jozi’s Kerry Sanssoucie (22) were left, with only one more spot available in the Top 15 group! The judges called both of them up to the Judgement Room. “There’s only place for one of you, Gareth said ominously. “We’re finding it really difficult to choose between the two of you, because you’ve actually both been really good. So here’s what we’re going to do…”In yet another first for Idols, the judges are leaving it up to the Idols viewers to decide who gets to sing in the Top 15 next week - Josslynn or Kerry!
To vote JOSSLYNN HLENTI into the Top 15, text the letter A to 37400. To vote for KERRY SANSSOUCIE, text the letter B to 37400. Or vote for either Idol on MXit. ??(SMSs cost R1,60. VAS rates apply and no free SMSs are allowed. 20 Moola per MXit vote.) The lines opened at the end of tonight’s broadcast (Sunday, 17 July) and will close tomorrow night (Monday, 18 July) at 22:00.
Here is the Idols Season 7 Top 15, in alphabetical order:
Chloe Geldenhuys (16) from Cape Town
Crushanda Forbes (23) from Kimberley
Dave Van Vuuren (20) from Johannesburg
Dené Vorster (16) from Johannesburg
Erin Fourie (27) from Pietermaritzburg
Freddie Van Dango (22) from Johannesburg
Kahludi Malele (29) from Polokwane
Kelly Fortuin (21) from Cape Town
Lefa Pike (29) from Kimberley
Mark Haze (29) from Cape Town
Mandla “Power” Simelane (26) from Soweto
Sibosisiwe “Miss J.” Jali (20) from Durban
Nolly Meje (24) from Cape Town
Phakamane “Phaksy” Mngomezu (20) from Empangeni
And whether it’s Josslynn or Kerry who will take the fifteenth place is up to South Africa’s votes!
Idols Season 7 is broadcast on M-Net and Mzansi Magic at 17h00 every Sunday, and dedicated fans can catch 24/7 Idols coverage on Channel 199 with full coverage of every audition from across the country, as well as exclusive contestant interviews.
